Callie Womble Edwards

Dr. Callie Womble Edwards joined NCEN in 2020 and the NCEN board in 2021. She currently serves as a Member at Large on the board and chair of the Communications Committee. Callie is an experienced educational researcher and program evaluator with a decade of experience studying, partnering with, and advocating for historically underrepresented and underserved populations in health, education, and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Research and Policy Analysis from North Carolina State University (NCSU) and a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Health Behavior from UNC Chapel Hill. Professionally, she serves as the Associate Director of Program Evaluation and Education Research at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation, where she provides leadership for highly specialized and multifaceted research programs. She also teaches qualitative research methods courses in the NCSU College of Education. On a personal note, Callie launched her educational coaching and consulting firm, The Life Of A Scholar, LLC, in 2015. Her speciality is dissertation coaching.
