From Empathy to Exhaustion: Exploring Compassion Fatigue in Program Evaluation
March 27 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Join us to reconnect and learn!
Compassion fatigue (CF) is the emotional and
physical exhaustion that evaluators
experience when exposed to trauma.
Based on interviews with diverse evaluators,
Dr. Stacy Huff explores how CF manifests in the
field through emotional strain, professional
isolation, and systemic challenges.
This presentation challenges the field to
acknowledge the hidden struggle of CF and
implications for sustaining human-centered,
ethical evaluation practices. Attendees will
leave with an awareness of CF in evaluation,
practical strategies for building resilience, and
insights to advocate for systemic changes
that prioritize evaluator well-being.
