Please join Dr. Richard Lambert, Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Director of the Center for Educational Measurement and Evaluation, as he presents a method for evaluating the inter-rater reliability of evaluators who assess the performance of teachers. He will present results from a study of 65 evaluators and will outline methods for calibrating the strictness, leniency, and bias of raters. These methods can be applied in other contexts where inter-rater reliability is important.

Dr. Lambert has received over $30M in research funding during his career. He currently serves as the Principal Investigator for an award from the NC Department of Public Instruction entitled “Evaluating the Implementation of a Formative Assessment System in North Carolina Kindergarten Classrooms” and an award from the NC Department of Health and Human Services entitled “Coaching, Mentoring, Performance Evaluation, and Professional Development for BK Licensed Teachers in Non-public School Classrooms.”
