CCREE Learning Circle with Karyl and Monifa
February 10 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm
Join us for an interactive discussion on collaborative and culturally responsive equitable evaluation co-facilitated by Karyl Askew and Monifa Beverly, co-authors of Employing Culturally Responsive Evaluation of Programs Serving Black Communities: Navigating Race, Accountability, High-Stakes, and (In)visibility in Frierson, Arbuthnot, Hopson, & Hood’s Race and Culturally Responsive Inquiry in Education: Improving Research, Evaluation, and Assessment. We will begin by acknowledging persons/writings/professional learning that has inspired participants along their journey to live in and up to equitable evaluation practices. We will consider topics that participants are currently “wrestling with” or want to explore (in small groups depending on the number of attendees). Karyl and Monifa, of course, won’t be able to answer every question, but the goal is to contribute to the intention of a learning/learn-along-side journey.
This session will not be recorded to support attendees in creating a space where we can be vulnerable. A list of resources will be compiled and shared with participants of the session.
